After the successful release of Moto G 3rd generation in July 2015, it has gone wildly popular amongst the smartphone lovers. The Moto G 3 arrived up to the marks and most of the people using it are satisfied and happy with the experience. So after the wide acceptance by fans, Motorola has released the next smartphone Moto G4 with changed looks and exciting features.

The Moto G4 has been released recently and is successors to the Moto G (3rd gen). The Moto G4 is being released along with the Lenovo Moto G4 Plus. The Moto G4 shows a clear progression over last year’s model in terms of specs. There are many aspects of the phone to be discussed so, here is Lenovo Moto G4: All there is to know.

DISPLAY AND DESIGN

The Moto G4 comes with a 1080p display that is an improvement to last years 720p display. The screen has grown from a 5 inch version to a 5.5 inch one. For those that like to watch videos and play display-intensive games on their smartphone, this will be a welcome change, as for everyone else, it wont be so much of a big deal. There is a physical home button on the front, which functions as a biometric sensor.

The Moto G4 and the 2015 Moto G feature a very similar design, however the newer device looks a little more refined. Both devices feature rounded corners and similar microphone-speaker designs, but when you look at the new Moto G4 from the back, the refinements become much clearer.

SOFTWARE, PROCESSOR AND STORAGE

Both the 2015 Moto G and the Moto G4 are running the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Motorola typically did little to customize Android. That also means you should receive Android updates relatively quickly, which is a nice bonus. The Moto G4 features a Snapdragon 617 chipset, which offers an extra 0.1 GHz over the 1.4 GHz Snapdragon 410.

You get a choice of 16 GB and 32 GB built-in storage (expandable via microSD). The RAM is fixed at 2 GB. Its a bit low considering that we are used to seeing the 4 GB RAM nowadays but it is a fine amount for a budget device.

CAMERAS

The Lenovo Moto G4 features a 13 MP, autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash features for the primary camera and 5 MP, f/2.2, auto-HDR for the secondary one. Actually, it’s almost exactly the same to its predecessor, the Moto G (3rd Gen).

BATTERY

Featuring a Non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery, the Moto G4 shows a natural progression. While we’ll have to wait for real-world tests, at least on paper, the new Moto G simply has a bigger battery. The 2015 Moto G offered a 2,470 mAh battery, which, according to tests, gave the device a full day and a half of use. Still, that was partly due to the undemanding 720p display. This year’s Moto G bumps the battery up to 3,000 mAh, but with a 1080p display, it will likely last the same amount of time, if not less. Don’t expect any radical changes in the battery department though.

PRICE

Price has yet to be announced for the Moto G4 in the United States, however, reports indicate that the device costs 13,500 rupees in India. In comparison, the 2015 Moto G cost 12,000 rupees, which translates to roughly $180. That said, expect a small price bump, even if it is less than $50.
