Samsung Galaxy Note 8 SM-N950U Stuck in Bootloop [FIX]

There are several reasons why your Samsung Galaxy Note 8 may not boot properly. Most of the times it is the software which is the cause of the Operating System boot failure. But at times, the hardware failure may also result in failure to boot the Android on your Note 8.

What is Bootloop?
>> If your phone turns on while holding the power button and looks like it will boot into the Android operating system but will fail to do so and reboots to the same screen time and again, it is called Bootloop.

# Hardware Issue

#Fix 1: The Easy Fix [Entering the Safe Mode]

1. Switch off the Samsung Galaxy Note 8
2. Switch on the Note 8 by holding the Power button and keep holding it until “Samsung” logo shows up.
3. Now release the Power key.
4. After that, press the volume down key immediately.
5. Keep holding the Volume down key until the device restarts.
6. You are now in the Safe mode.
7. Release the Volume down key when you see Safe mode written on the screen.

If your phone successfully loads, now you know that it is the third-party apps which are causing the phone from not booting up. The Safe mode is a mode wherein only crucial file to run Android at a start-up. From here on, you can uninstall any suspicious files which you think is causing the bootloop on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

You can now go to Settings > Apps. And select the app which you recently installed or think is the cause of the bootloop. You can use the hit-and-trial method wherein you try deleting some apps and restarting the Note 8 in normal mode. And when the target app is uninstalled, your phone will boot with no issue. #Fix 2: The Easy Fix [Entering the Recovery Mode]

If the first fix didn’t work for you where you couldn’t enter the Safe Mode, try entering the Recovery Mode on the Galaxy Note 8. If you are in the official Samsung ROM, entering the Recovery Mode will not be that big of an issue. Follow the given step down below for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 SM-N950U Stuck in Bootloop fix:

1. Make sure your Note 8 is powered off.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and Bixby key simultaneously and then hold down the Power button.
3. You will then see a green Android with its tummy opened up. You can then release all the buttons.
4. Then, installing system update screen will show up for around 1 minute.
5. You will then be shown the System Recovery menu.

#Fix 3: Perform the Hard Reset

Note: Performing the Hard Reset will clear all your data and apps installed on the phone. It includes all the photos, text, videos, apps stored on the phone. 

If nothing works, this is your last resort. You got to do what you got to do. You need to perform a hard reset which most likely will solve the bootloop issue on the Galaxy Note 8.

Here, if you can enter the Safe mode, make sure you make a copy of all the files and other media which are important to you. If you can’t, all your data from the phone will be erased. Also, if you use Google Photos, chances are you have all your photos and videos backed up on the cloud.

Okay then, this is how you perform the hard reset on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

1. Make sure your Note 8 is powered off.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and Bixby key simultaneously and then hold down the Power button.
3. You will then see a green Android with its tummy opened up. You can then release all the buttons.
4. Then, Installing system update screen will show up for around 1 minute.
5. You will then be shown the System Recovery menu.
6. Select the Wipe data/factory reset option using the Volume down key.
7. Use the Power button to select the option. Then, select “Yes- Delete all user data” and press the power button to confirm your selection.
8. Press the Power key when the hard reset is complete. It will reboot the system.

Look, if it doesn’t work, there’s very little you can do. It’s better if you take the phone to the nearest Samsung store to get the phone fixed or replaced. And hopefully, you have your phone under warranty. It’s not going to be cheap if you have to replace the motherboard of the phone.
